How Credits Work
Learn how supaguard credits work, including base credits, extra credits, and grace period protection.
Credits are the currency of supaguard's usage-based billing. This guide explains how credits work and how they're consumed.
What is a Credit?
1 Credit = 1 Browser Run
A browser run is approximately 30 seconds of test execution time. When your Playwright script runs in our cloud browser infrastructure, it consumes credits based on execution time.
For example:
- A 15-second test = 1 credit (minimum)
- A 30-second test = 1 credit
- A 60-second test = 2 credits
- A 65-second test = 3 credits
Types of Credits
Browser Checks Credits
Browser checks credits are included with your plan.
- One-time for Hacker — Free plan users get 1,000 runs as a one-time allocation; they don't reset
- Monthly for paid plans — Startup and above reset each billing cycle; unused credits don't carry over
- Allocated by plan — Hacker gets 1,000; Startup gets 20,000; Scale gets 100,000
- Consumed first — Always used before extra credits
Extra Credits (Top-Ups)
Extra credits are purchased separately and provide flexibility for usage spikes.
- Never expire — Carry over month to month indefinitely
- Purchased as needed — Buy more anytime from Billing Settings
- Consumed second — Only used after base credits are exhausted
Credit Consumption Order
When a test runs, credits are consumed in this order:
- Browser Checks Credits — Your plan allocation is used first
- Extra Credits — Top-up credits are used when browser checks credits are exhausted
This ensures you get maximum value from your subscription while maintaining continuous monitoring.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do unused credits roll over?
On the Hacker plan, browser checks credits are a one-time allocation and do not reset. On paid plans, browser checks credits reset each billing cycle and unused credits don't carry over. Extra credits (top-ups) never expire and always carry over.
What happens if I run out of credits?
We would still run your tests with few more grace credits, but you would have to buy extra top-up credits to continue monitoring.
How are credits charged for failed tests?
All test executions consume credits, including failures. This is because server resources are used regardless of the test outcome.
Can I see my credit history?
Yes, you can view your credit transaction history in Billing Settings under the Usage section.
